Rep. Diana Gonzalez

Diana Gonzalez of Winooski, Chittenden County, Progressive/Democrat, was born on August 8, 1978, in Oxnard, California. Diana is pursuing her doctorate at the University of Vermont in education, leadership and policy (2012-present).
She also runs an independent consulting business, Grounds for Discourse, through which she provides training and training-of-trainers sessions for organizations around diversity, group dialogue, and social justice (2011-present).
Diana received her BA in American cultural studies (2000) at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA, and her MA in conflict transformation (2006) from the School for International training in Brattleboro, VT. Diana works as an educator with elementary school, high school, university, and international students (2004-present). Diana worked as staff at UVM for five years as an Alcohol and Other Drugs Health Educator (2009-2013). During this time she became a leader in the drive to unionize university staff. She has also been involved with restorative justice programs at Community Justice Centers in Brattleboro and Burlington, VT (2007-2009).
Since the year same-sex marriage was federally recognized (2013), she has been married to Ace McArleton.
