Representative James Sturch 

Arkansas Future Caucus, EMERITUS Co-Chair (R)

Rep. Sturch’s passion for public service began ata young age, as he volunteered for numerous community organizations and campaigns before running for office himself. In 2014, he was elected State Representative for District 63 for Independence County and served as the youngest member in the 90th General Assembly.

He quickly earned a reputation as a hard worker and his willingness to collaborate with other legislators to improve the quality of life for Arkansans.

Sturch is a graduate of Southside High School and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he earned degrees in political science and secondary education. Sturch is a certified high school social studies teacher and has completed his master’s degree in Public Administration.

For the 91st General Assembly, Sturch serves on the Education and State Agencies committees. He has worked to ensure that Arkansas workers have the education and preparation for success in the 21st-century workforce. He has also helped to make state government more efficient by decreasing spending and combining state agencies. He has voted to improve fairness and transparency in tax administration and extend tax relief to veterans and their families.
