Spring Communications Intern
Jessica is a junior at Georgetown University studying philosophy and government. She is interested in human rights advocacy, specifically the prevention of violence against women at home and abroad. Recently, she interned with the Office of the Vice President under Vice President Joe Biden's leadership, where she worked with the White House Advisor on Violence Against Women to end sexual and domestic violence as well as dismantle the patriarchal structures which cause it.
Following her time at the White House, Jessica interned with the Office on Violence Against Women at the U.S. Department of Justice where she continued to fight for the right of women to be free from violence and intimidation. When she finishes her undergraduate, Jessica plans on attending law school and becoming a federal prosecutor so that she can help to improve the criminal justice response to sex crimes and human trafficking. In the meantime, she works on campus at Georgetown to endeavor to end campus sexual assault through consent education, active bystander intervention, and community organizing.
