From 2009 to 2013, Lauren was an aide to her home state senator, Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA). On Capitol Hill, Lauren served as Deputy Communications Director and Press Secretary for Sen. Isakson. In addition to serving as the senator’s national spokeswoman, Lauren implemented a strategic communications plan and worked on numerous policy issues, including health care, labor, taxes, foreign affairs, housing, transportation, energy, and education.

On Capitol Hill, Lauren’s peers elected her to serve as the Vice President of the Senate Press Secretaries Association, and she served on the group’s board for two years. She remains an active alumni member in addition serving on the National Press Foundation Dinner Committee and the Georgia State Society board.

Prior to her time in the Senate, Lauren worked on Sen. Isakson’s successful re-election campaign where she developed and implemented a statewide digital strategy and worked with the state’s press corps. Additionally, Lauren served as a digital communications consultant to Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens’ successful election campaign.
