Ashley Scott

ByteCubed

Ashley cut her teeth and began her journey in politics with the Louisiana Governor’s office just two weeks before Hurricane Katrina made landfall.  After the storm hit, she was catapulted into the tremendous recovery efforts of not just a city, but of a state that would be underwater for years to come.  She began working for the Louisiana State Legislature which provided an opportunity to work with constituents on the grass roots level and create legislation for the communities struggling to survive the aftermath of the storm.  This experience motivated her to become involved in the 2008 presidential election and run for a delegate seat to the Democratic National Convention, making history as the youngest Louisiana delegate to win a seat.  Ashley later worked for former Congressman Donald Cazayoux and then relocated to Washington D.C. to work for former U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu. While in the Senate, she specialized in the budget/appropriations process and created funding opportunities that met the greatest needs of the constituents, while partnering with members of congress on both sides of the aisle.  Ashley also worked on the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship and focused on closing the Nation’s wealth gap and strengthening America’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Currently, Ashley serves as the Director of Public Affairs for ByteCubed, a high impact consulting firm specializing in next generation software and helping government agencies, businesses and nonprofit groups leverage digital technology to transform their information management systems.

As a valued member of the firm’s leadership team, Ashley manages the company’s marketing, communications, as well as congressional affairs for its largest client, the Department of Defense.  Ashley’s mastery of strategic marketing and communications as well as her keen understanding of what drives political decision-making has been invaluable to the company.

In the span of 5 years, ByteCubed has grown from a two-person operation to over a hundred employees.  Ashley created the strategic plan and led the initiative to ensure the company was recognized for its tremendous success with ByteCubed being included on the Inc. 5000 list, named a best place to work by the Washington Post, best place to work by Virginia Business and Best Companies, as well as one of the fastest growing companies by Arlington Economic Development.

Ashley earned her master’s degree from the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy at Southern University and A&M College.  She received her undergraduate degree from Southern University, majoring in journalism.  She is a political junky and loves to watch old classic movies during her free time.
