Del. Chris Peace represents the 97th District which includes parts of Hanover, King William, and all of New Kent County. First taking office in 2006, Peace serves on the prominent Appropriations, Health Welfare and Institutions, Science & Technology, and General Laws (Chairman) Committees. He is Chairman of the Appropriations Sub-committee on Elementary and Secondary Education.

An attorney, Peace owns his own law firm, and is an active member of the Virginia State Bar. He taught legal studies as an adjunct professor of legal studies at Virginia Commonwealth University Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs.

He is an alumnus of Leadership Metro Richmond and University of Virginia’s Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership. Sorensen presented Peace its 2008 alumni award for “Expression of Ideals.”

Peace graduated from St. Christopher’s School, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Hampden-Sydney College. and earned his law degree from the University of Richmond.  He and his wife, Ashley, live in New Kent, Virginia, with their two children.
