On October 20-21, MAP President Steven Olikara traveled to L.A. for Politicon 2018– a weekend of political panels, debates, town halls, art, podcasts, comedy, Q&A’s, book signings, and more!
On Saturday, Steven moderated a rematch debate for Charlie Kirk and Hasan Piker where they discussed a variety of topics such as what they think is the biggest challenges facing young people today, the role of government, and free market.
Steven then sat down Saturday evening with Alex Ebert, Alison Brettschneider, Ben Higgins, and Cameron Kasky to ask the panel of young adults how to create social, political, and cultural change in today’s society.
On Sunday, Steven moderated a panel featuring Michael Knowles, Charlie Kirk, Kyle Kulinski, Bakari Sellers, and Roaming Millennial for a panel titled How The #*&$% Are We All Going To Get Along? The panel featured discussion between Sam Seder and Charlie Kirk to debate whether or not Donald Trump is helping the middle class. Steven wrapped up the weekend by having a great conversation with Cenk Uygur and Tucker Carlson where they found surprising common ground on issues such as regulating big businesses, immigration, and free speech.
