Representative Mark Cardenas

ARIZONA FUTURE CAUCUS, EMERITUS CO-CHAIR (D)

Rep. Mark Cardenas currently represents the 19th Legislative District in the Arizona House of Representatives. Prior to serving in the legislature, Cardenas served in the US Army, doing one combat tour in Iraq. After his active duty, he used the GI Bill to attend both Phoenix College and the University of Southern California, then worked as an accountant at the Department of Defense.

Cardenas has served in the House since 2013 and is currently serving his third term, sitting on the Committee on Appropriations as well as the Committee on Ways and Means.

In his position as a State Representative, Cardenas has helped expand healthcare to half a million Arizonans, obtained housing for veterans experiencing homelessness, and obtained increased education funding for public schools.  In his free time, Cardenas serves on the Estrella Village Planning Committee.
