Abin Kuriakose

Program manager, chicagoNEXT, world business chicago

Born and raised in Chicago, Abin is a dynamic young professional who thrives at the intersection of policy, politics, and tech. Currently, he serves as program manager for ChicagoNEXT at World Business Chicago (WBC) - the City of Chicago's public-private economic development partner. Governed by a council of technology leaders, ChicagoNEXT is WBC’s dedicated effort to drive growth and opportunity for Chicago’s tech economy with strategic focus areas in venture capital, talent, industry and community impact. His portfolio of programs includes the Chicago Venture SummitThinkChicago, and the Blackstone Inclusive Entrepreneurship Challenge.

Prior to ChicagoNEXT, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff for the Cook County Board of Commissioners. (Bridget Gainer - Tenth District). His work included public policy development, government relations, legislative affairs and community outreach for a district of 300,000+ constituents. Cook County, Illinois is the second-largest county in the United States with 5.2 million residents and an annual $4 billion+ budget.

Abin remains active in local politics and several civic initiatives. He serves on the political team for Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08), previous serving as Special Projects Coordinator on the Congressman's 2016 campaign. He also a member of the Chicago Leadership Alliance and board member of the IndoAmerican Democratic Organization, Illinois' oldest South Asian American PAC. He was a 2016 Chicago Fellow and former executive board member for New Leaders Council (NLC). 

Abin received his bachelor’s degree from DePaul University’s Driehaus College of Business and a long-time fan of his favorite baseball team & 2016 World Series Champions the Chicago Cubs.
