SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WRSP) — As top lawmakers continue to work on compromises to fund the state, the Future Caucus group has introduced its own legislative plans.

Lawmakers in the bipartisan group are newer to the political process and have pledged to work together on state issues.

Local Rep. Sara Wojcicki Jimenez is a member of the group.

Their plans include bills to help provide more opportunities for young people.

“What I really like about this slate of bills is it reflects the diversity and the interests of the members of the caucus. We have city members and downstate members. We have rural members and urban members. We have folks from different parties and different backgrounds,” says Rep. Will Guzzardi.

Some of those plans have moved forward in the legislative process.

The caucus hopes it can show lawmakers can work together to improve the quality of life for Illinois residents.
